WordPress comes with two default content types: Pages & Posts.

Pages are generally considered to be used for primary static content, like About, Contact, Privacy, Terms & Conditions, and are generally included as items in the main navigation menu.

Posts are generally considered to be used for secondary content, like Press Releases, Media Releases, News Items, Blog Posts, Annual Reports. Posts are designed to be collated into a sequential list of posts, like a Blog or News page, which lists all blog posts from most recent to oldest.

The Blog page can be set @ Settings > Reading > Posts page: > (select a blank page).
